In the end, one remarkable recipe will be crowned Australia’s Recipe of the Year.

Set on a picturesque country farm, this seven-part Australian series brings together twenty of the country’s best home cooks. From family recipes shaped by culture and passed down through generations, to ingenious weeknight winners, Recipe of the Year celebrates the food Australians actually cook - and the stories behind it.

At the heart of the competition is the Country Women’s Association (CWA), bringing generations of cooking knowledge, community and tradition to the series. Their expertise helps put some of Australia’s most beloved home recipes to the test, from scones and jam rolls to cakes, roasts and more.

At the end of the series, one remarkable recipe will be crowned Australia’s Recipe of the Year.

Our Hosts

Meet Adam, Pia and Ellice, the three judges at the table.

Adam Liaw is one of Australia’s most recognised food personalities and Good Food’s #1 recipe writer, with recipes cooked by millions of Australians every year. Pia Miranda has been a cherished presence on our screens since her award-winning turn as Josie in Looking for Alibrandi, loved for her warmth, honesty and effortless relatability. Joining them is CWA Convenor Ellice Schrader, a practical, no-nonsense cook who has been winning agricultural show competitions since 1988 and has spent around eight years judging cookery across NSW, including at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. She keeps things on track, wrangles the other judges and helps with the voting.

Meet the CWA Judges

The CWA is the largest women's organisation in Australia and aims to improve conditions for country women and children. We reach that aim in various ways including lobbying for change, helping the local community, creating a network of support and meeting together in towns and cities. We empower and support women and their communities internationally through our International portfolio.
