About the Show

Recipe of the Year is a feel-good cooking competition with a simple mission: to find one recipe worthy of being crowned the nation’s Recipe of the Year.

Set on a picturesque country farm, the seven-part Australian series brings together twenty of the country’s best home cooks. From family recipes shaped by culture and passed down through generations, to ingenious weeknight winners, Recipe of the Year celebrates the food Australians actually cook - and the stories behind it.

At the heart of the competition is the Country Women’s Association (CWA), bringing generations of cooking knowledge, community and tradition to the series. Their expertise helps put some of Australia’s most beloved home recipes to the test, from scones and jam rolls to cakes, roasts and more.

Unlike other cooking competitions, there are no professional chefs, restaurant-style dishes or manufactured drama. Just great home cooks, recipes that people can actually make, and the warmth, humour and stories that emerge when people come together around food.

Because the best recipes do more than taste good. They get made again. They get shared. They get passed on.

At the end of the series, one remarkable recipe will be crowned Australia’s Recipe of the Year.
